Practice

Chloe Yap is a UK-qualified Solicitor and Chartered Legal Executive with over 19 years of experience in UK immigration law. She advises businesses and private individuals on all areas of UK immigration, providing clear, strategic and commercially grounded advice.

She supports start-ups, SMEs, established UK businesses, multinational corporations and international organisations establishing or expanding operations in the United Kingdom. Chloe regularly assists local UK employers in securing sponsor licences and obtaining work visas for their employees, ensuring compliance with Home Office requirements throughout the process. She works closely with business owners, senior leadership teams, HR professionals and global mobility teams, aligning immigration strategy with commercial objectives and day-to-day operational needs.

Corporate Immigration Practice

Chloe has extensive experience advising corporate clients across a wide range of sectors on:

  • Sponsor licence applications and ongoing compliance
  • Skilled Worker and Global Business Mobility routes
  • Expansion of overseas businesses into the UK
  • Workforce mobility and employee relocation
  • Dependant applications for employees and their families

She held management roles for over four years at two of the Big Four accountancy firms in the UK, where she advised multinational and large international companies on immigration matters affecting both corporate operations and employees. Working within these organisations gave her a strong understanding of corporate governance, internal reporting structures, risk management and the commercial drivers behind immigration decision-making. She developed the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders while managing substantial caseloads within fast-paced, structured environments.

Private Client Immigration

Alongside her corporate practice, Chloe advises private clients and high-net-worth individuals across the full spectrum of personal immigration matters, including:

  • Long residence applications
  • Spouse and partner visas
  • Global Talent and Innovator Founder applications
  • BN(O) visas
  • Private life applications
  • Naturalisation and registration as a British citizen
  • Administrative reviews, judicial reviews and immigration appeals

She is known for thorough preparation, careful analysis and clear advice, particularly in complex or sensitive cases.

Notable Work
  • Assisted a client in overturning a Sponsor Licence revocation, securing reinstatement of the licence following challenge to the Home Office decision.
  • Assisted a client’s child in obtaining settlement from overseas after three prior refusals and two unsuccessful appeals, resolving complex issues that had previously prevented approval.
  • Assisted with a BN(O) Adult Dependent Relative visa, securing approval on first application through detailed evidence addressing the high dependency threshold.
  • Assisted in obtaining a Skilled Worker dependant visa for an adopted child, demonstrating a clear understanding of the relevant adoption framework and evidential requirements within the immigration context.
  • Assisted two clients in securing settlement under the Long Residence route despite excessive absences from the UK, successfully addressing discretionary and evidential considerations.
  • Assisted a client in obtaining British citizenship notwithstanding excessive absences, presenting structured representations to address residence requirements.
  • Assisted a client in securing approval of a Skilled Worker visa application despite submission without a valid Certificate of Sponsorship, multiple application errors and a missed biometric deadline, resolving procedural and compliance issues.
International Experience

In 2006, Chloe spent approximately one year in Malaysia, where she worked as a part-time lecturer in Law, teaching A-Level students at college level.

This role strengthened her ability to explain legal concepts clearly and in a structured manner, a skill that continues to underpin her communication style when advising both corporate and private clients.

Chloe is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, with intermediate proficiency in Malay. Her multilingual capability enables her to support an international client base with clarity and confidence.
